Good Product - No Problems May 16, 2010 J. Rogers (Portland, OR) I bought this to use with a cat harness that had a really short bungy leash. It seems to work for this purpose as expected. No complaints.
A Bad Idea April 26, 2010 C. B. Chatman (Portland, OR USA) I went through three of these with my baby corgi until I realized that they are a bad idea. They snap. Easily. Living in an urban area, this is an incredibly scary thing--chasing your dog down a busy city street with a broken leash in your hand. They also teach dogs bad behavior with the whole "the more you tug, the more leash you get" attitude. I understand the utility and convenience, but there are much better leashes on the market that are even marketed as "unbreakable" that reinforce positive behavior training.
Leash BROKE by 10lb Yorkie April 10, 2010 D. Schoch (NY USA) I DO NOT recommend this product!!! While I was walking my 10lb Yorkie, the leash broke, snapped clear off near the base of the hook. Anyone who owns a Yorkie knows how fast they are, and as soon as the leash broke she took off causing me and my husband to chase her all over the neighborhood. I relied on this product to protect my dog, and it failed miserably. Fortunately, we caught her before anything serious happened but it was a very terrifying 5 minutes. When I attempted to contact the company regarding the situation, they never got back to me proving that their products and customer service is far from reputable. I would NEVER purchase another product from this company and do not advise anyone else to do so either, especially those pet owners with large dogs that pull much harder than a toy dog.
great way to walk your dog January 12, 2010 Edna Broughton 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this leash. Lets my dog walk beside me, but also get a bit farther out when needed. Really helps to keep me from getting tangled. I was a bit worried about the strength of the leash but found it to be just fine for my 15-20lb dog. Not a problem, even though she pulls quite a bit at times, which is especially scary near the street. That is another great thing about the retractable leash though. I can shorten it easily and get good control of her when needed. It has really given me piece of mind in situations like these. You get the best of both worlds with this leash.
Thin cord+plastic snap: Not for terriers and "bolting" pups December 23, 2009 H. Lee (Sacramento, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Purchased this for my 16 pound Jack Russell. Leash Cord: If your pup "dashes" and this cord extends at lightening speed, you can easily burn your hands if you try to grab it-like grabbing "piano wire"(the manufacturer does warn you of this). Even though it is for 26lb dogs, you really wonder whether this will hold the tension that a hyper dog can have on when they "bolt". The Collar Snap: this is plastic. The weakest part of the leash. This is the primary reason why this leash is good only for "lap dogs" who won't "challenge" the durable of this lightweight leash.
Will be going back to the good old leather leash and giving this Flexi to my friend with a Pomeranian.
